Steganography is an art to hide the confidential message inside an image.It is used form ancient ages.
Confidential message may be in any form such as text, video, audio, image.
There are three components of Steganography:
1. Cover Image
2. Confidential message
3. Key(optional)
There are many algorithms exists such as F5, Outguess, Least Significant Bits etc.
Advantages of Steganography:
1. It is not used to hide the information but it is used to hide the password to reach the information.
2. Steganography can not be detected easily.
3. We can hide the different type of message such as audio, video, text, image etc.
Disadvantages of Steganography:
1.If the size of confidential message is large then someone can easily suspect.
2. It can be spoofed during sending and receiving the transmission.
3. It can be misused if it is used for wrong intention.
Uses:
1. It is used to store sensitive data, for example password.
2. It may be used in war for communicating confidential message.
