Runaway greenhouse effect is a situation where the strength of the greenhouse gases increases by positive feedback between the surface temperature and atmospheric opacity in such a way that the ocean boils away. In this situation, the greenhouses become stronger until all the greenhouse gases are in the atmosphere.

It is called a runaway as it is formed by a positive feedback loop where the situation amplifies by its own effect.

the runaway greenhouse effect is quite relevant today as it is the mother of all environmental disater and the earth has been witnessing the extreme events in the past few years and the situation is worsening by the years.
