Ans 3 : b) edge dislocation
There are basically two types of three dimensional dislocations : edge and screw. The edge dislocations that have burgers vector perpendicular to the dislocation line are simpler to visualize as they have an additional half plane of atoms within the crystal. They are also called as line defects. The screw dislocations are a little complex as they have the burgers vector parallel to the dislocation line.
