One gene, one enzyme hypothesis is given by Beadle and Tautum.

With more understanding on genes, now we know that all genes do not code enzymes only. There are some proteins which do not function as enzymes. There are enzymes having many subunits and each coded by a different sub unit.

Alternate splicing,overlapping genes etc , all of them accept the fact that the genes have lot more other functions than just code enzymes. But all proteins are coded by genes only. Now-a-days the hypothesis is called more correctly as one gene, one polypeptide hypothesis.

So the only statement which does not support the concept is options 'a'. Some enzymes are not coded by genes.

All enzymes are coded by genes only. But genes do more than just coding enzymes.
