What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages (or limitations) of a complete randomized block design. Explain.

Advantages:

1. Widely used in Agricultural experiments.

2. This design has been shown to be more efficient or accurate than CRD for most of the types of experimental work. The elimination of SS, usually results in a decrease of error of mean SS.

3. Flexibility is another advantage of RCDB, a Large number of treatments can be included in the design.

Disadvantages:

1. Not suitable for a large number of treatments because if the block size is large it may be difficult to maintain homogeneity within blocks. Consequently, the error will increase.

2. If there is amissing data, an RCBD experiment may be less efficient than a CRD.
