Answer #1

Factors affecting rate of reaction are:

1.Temperature

2.Nature of reactants

3.Contact between reactants

4.Concentration of reactant

5.Catalyst

If the reaction rate doubles when the concentration of reactant is doubled then it is First order with respect to that reactant. .

The term half life is the time taken for the concentration of reactant to decrease by a factor of 1/2

For KBrO3

Oxidation no. of K = +1

Oxidation no. of Br = +5

Oxidation of O = -2

    (a) Select all of the correct statements about reaction rates from the choices below. The lower the rate of a reaction the longer it takes to reach completion. The rate of a slow step has more effect on the overall reaction rate than the rate of a fast step. As a reaction progresses its rate goes down. Concentrations of homogeneous catalysts have no effect on reaction rates. Reaction rates always increase as masses of solid reactants increase. The fastest step...

The lower the rate of a reaction the longer it takes to reach completion. Reaction rates decrease with increasing temperature. Catalysts increase reaction rates. O Reaction rates can show little change as masses of solid reactants increase. Catalysts decrease reaction rates. Reaction rates increase as concentrations of homogeneous catalysts increase. Slow reactions can be speeded up by raising the temperature.

The "reaction order" describes the dependence of rate on the concetration of a reactant. If the reaction is oth order, it's rate is independent of concentration, if it is 1st order, the rate is directly related to the concentration (ie. if the concentration is doubled, the rate will double), and if it...
