3. (Mirror)
We find a 1970’s disco ball in the back of the lab. The diameter of ball is 40 cm. We take a slice of the ball and discover that the inside is coated with a mirror finish. Oh boy! We can test our knowledge of concave mirrors! Let us take a 2 cm long pencil stub and place it 30 cm in front of the mirror.

(a) Tell about the mirror and the image of the pencil stub you see based on using formulas and why;
(concave/convex, location of center & focal points, real/virtual, length of image, distance of image from mirror, up-right/inverted). Show all your work.

(b) Confirm your answers with a sketch of the arrangement
