ANSWER 17 (a) Here from the diagram it is quite clear that we are using here a open end manometer, out of these two manometers Manometer A have a very low pressure inside in it whereas Manometer B have a very high pressure inside in it.

As it mentioned in the question that both the manometers have the same 1.0 atm pressure which clearly indicates that if the atmospheric pressure is same the difference in thee pressure must be because of the pressure of the gas inside of the ,manometers A and B

So it means Manometer B represent a pressure reading in denver.
