Answer #1

Calaculation of Amount of overhead applied

It was given that,

Work in process has a debit balance of $3200

And

In work in process,

Direct materials costs are $1400 and labor costs are $800, which are on the debit side of work in process account.

Now,

Overhead applied in work in process is obtained by deducting the costs of direct materials and labor from the debit balance of work in process account.

Therefore, Overhead Applied

= $3200 - ($1400+$800)

= $3200 - $2200

= $1000
