Problem # 7.
What is the Thévenin equivalent voltage of the circuit at terminals a and b.
To solve this question Thevenin's Theorem will be applied.
Thevenin's Theorem: It states that Any two terminals of a network can be replaced by an equivalent voltage source and an equivalent series resistance. The voltage source is the voltage across the two terminals with load removed. The series resistance is the resistance of the network measured between two terminals with load removed and independent voltage source is short circuited and independent current source is open circuited.
so in this question Thevenin's Voltage will be equal to the voltage drop across the 3Kohm resistor.
Current division rule knowledge is also required to solve this question.
