Answer #1

In this scenario, the energy in the battery will be discharged (drained). Due to the following reasons:-

  • This is due to the moisture in the ground leads to corrosion of the casing of the battery. The chemicals are later absorbed into the ground causes pollution.

  • Batteries have heavy metals like lithium, lead, etc which are toxic and acids.

  • The bacteria and other Organisms and other impurities in the ground reacts with it and spoils the battery.

  • Batteries has to be stored at cool and constant temperature for better life.

  • Even with well insulation the ground still makes the battery dead.

The available energy:- By considering above reasons, After 2 years the energy available inside the battery will be completely discharged and is equal to 0 wh (zero watt- hour)

The all-new iPhone Xs has a 2716mAh Li-ion battery. After a full charge, Lee used it for exactly a full day without recharging, leaving 15% battery in the phone. If the voltage of the battery is 3.8V, estimate (1) the average electric current (in Amperes), (2) the total amount of electric energy (in Joules), and (3) the average power (in Watts) that Lee’s iPhone Xs consumed during that day. This battery only has a mass of about 50 grams. As...
