Question

Problem 3. (40 pts) Shown in the figure is a piston/cylinder set up containing refrigerant R 410a, with an ideal spring. The system is initially at -20°C and has a quality of 20% in a volume of 0.2 m. The system is then heated to 20°C. The maximum volume allowed, when the piston hits the stops, is 04 m2. Find the mass of the fluid, the work and heat transfer and show the a P-v diagram. Hint: ignore the mass of the piston and recall that with an ideal spring, the pressure is proportional to the volume and at P 0, V 0 R410a
