The decreased pulmonary gas exchange in influenza caues the alveoli to compressed upon exhalation of carbondioxide from the lung. Due to damage of alveoli and lung tissue, it doesn't support the bronchial tubes causing their constriction results into accumulation of air inside the lung. The decreased pulmonary gas exchnage ,causes accumulation of carbon dioxide in the lungs which combine with the water and forms the carbonic acid, diffuses into the alveolar to capillary membrane and in bloodstream.In blood it combines with water and produces carbonic acid thus lowers the pH of blood causing Acidosis.As a result breathing rate and volume increases,heart rate increases and the kidney starts producing bicarbonate in order to compensate the condition.
