If we observe the pairs of x,y we will see that as x is increasing y is also increasing. x is increasing by 0.1 at a time but y is increasing at a greater rate.

However at x= 1.5 the corresponding value of y is 5.6 which is not expected so this is an outlier.

Similarly x=1.7 and y= 4.5 is another outlier in this dataset.

Although y has also decreased at x= 0.9 instead of the usual pattern of inceasring but the decrease is not substantial like the above cases so this will not be considered as an outlier.
