Managers make this common mistake because they focus entirely on solving the problem and rushes to solve without assessing the problem and finding the cause of problem. Managers fails to follow the main steps in decision-making which can help them with the previous problem. First identify the problem that can be acted upon. Then develop a possible alternative solution. In step 3, collect, interpret and evaluate the relevant information about the alternatives. 4th step, choose the preferred alternative. In the 5th step, implement to decision and finally, follow up, evaluate and make changes as needed.
