Answer #1

Answer

Option B

EGF cascades would be active for a shorter period in the cell

Explanation:

  • Due to the mutation in the transmembrane region of Epidermal growth factors receptor, EGFR cascade activate for a shorter period. This binding of molecules (ligand)  with the receptor takes place but after that during dimerisation the lack of stabilty the signaling transduction stopes.
  • In short, Mutation may result in ligand binding but lack the stability that leads to elimitaion of stabilizatin between ligand and receptor during dimerisation. EGF cascade can’t active on longer time in the cell. This affect in the pathway activation (example Ras activation)
