There are different categories of amine neurotrasmitters present in the brain

Monoamines include catecholamines, indoleamines and histamine

Dopamine, epinephrine and norepinephrine come under the catecholamines category

Dopamine is produced from the cell bodies in mid brain region of the brain

Norepinephrine is produced from the cell bodies of medulla and pons

Epinephrine is produced from cells in medullary reticular regions.

Serotonin comes under indoleamines

Serotonin is produced from cell located in medulla and mid brain.

Histamines are produced from the basal posterior hypothalamus
