Answer #1

Solution :

Given that,

mean = M = 60

Sample standard deviation = S = 6

a ) z = 1.50

Using z-score formula,

X = z * S + M

= 1.50 * 6 + 60

= 69

X = 69

b ) z = -0.50

Using z-score formula,

X = z * S + M

= 1-0.50 * 6 + 60

= 57

X = 57

c ) z = 2.00

Using z-score formula,

X = z * S + M

=2.00 * 6 + 60

= 72

X = 72

d ) z = -0.33

Using z-score formula,

X = z * S + M

= -0.33 * 6 + 60

= 58.02

X = 58.02
