Mean is given by sum of x.p(x)

= 0*0.045 + 1*0.070 +2*0.164 + 3*0.269 + 4*0.229 + 5*0.139 + 6*0.084

= 3.32 is the required mean

or 3.3 hours approx

First subtract mean hours from each and every observation

0-3.32, 1-3.32, 2-3.32, 3-3.32, 4-3.32, 5-3.32, 6-3.32
