Team is important in achieving various short term as well as long term business goals. Generally, it comes in picture when two or more people join hands to achieve some common organizational purposes. A team efficiency and effectiveness depends upon its individual members as well as the leadership abilities of a team leader.

A team can be classified into various types as per the needs and demand of the organization and its stakeholders. Some of the teams are cross functional team, problem solving team , short term project team , virtual team , self regulated / managed team etc.

An individual must have certain characteristics and behavioral factors which helps various organizational purposes in the form of teamwork. Training and development interventions can make team more effective and useful for its stakeholders.
