Answer #1

The expression for shear modulus S is:

S=\frac{\tau }{\gamma }

Here, \tau is shear stress, and \gamma is a shear strain.

Given parameters are:

Shear stress on cells, T= 20dyne/cm

Shear strain, 7=0.008

Substitute all the known values in the expression of shear modulus.

S = 20dyne/cm2 0,008

1dyne = 10-5N 1cm² = 10-4m2

Substitute the conversion factors in the above equation.

20 x 20 X 10-4 m2 10-5N S=- 0.008

S= 250N/m

Therefore, the value of the shear modulus is 250 N/m2.

Hope my explanation is helpful to you. Any feedback will be appreciated.
