After a can of carbonated soft drink is removed from the refrigerator, opened and left to stand awhile. which of the following best describes the charges that cause the soda to "go flat" (i.e. lose its CO2 content)?

A carbonated soft drink has gaseous carbon dioxide (CO2) gas dissolved in it at very high pressures at the time of manufacturing.

Now, the solubility of a gas is directly proportional to pressure of gas and inversely proportional to temperature.

This means if pressure of gas is high and temperature is low, then more gas will be dissolved in the soft drink

This also means if pressure of gas is low and the temperature is high, then more gas will come out of the soft drink.

When a can of carbonated soft drink is removed from the refrigerator, the temperature starts increasing towards room temperature and when it is also opened then the pressure also decreases (sound of hiss)

All these factors contribute for evolving of dissolved CO2 from the soft drink which causes the drink to "go flat"
