Briefly discuss what is meant by 'product placement' and how this seemingly nuisance part of film-making can have a powerful impact on the behavior of viewers.
Product placement is a marketing technique where references to certain brands or products are made in the film. It can have some powerful effects on the buying behavior of the audience of that film or TV show. In this technique, the name of the product or brand is very cleverly incorporated into the plot or is used as a prop so that it does not stand out too much in the film. This is done so as to maintain a feeling of realism in the film. This is usually done by the filmmakers as they get compensation for the same which they might end up using in the production of the same film. It is one of the most popular and successful marketing tactics as it can have both implicit and explicit effects.
