Unethical behavior is the behavior that is against the work ethics or moral values of business. Unethical behavior does not necessarily cover the legal aspect of work behavior, It may be legal or illegal. So it does not always lead to any legal issues but may harm the integrity of the business as well as the employee's. Some of the unethical behavior involves misusing company time, disrespecting peers and seniors, lying to employers, violating company's internet policies, not taking responsibility of own actions, not showing initiative, taking credits of others work, verbal harassment or abuse, extended breaks, corrupt practices and many more. Companies committed to Corporate Social Responsibility does well in the stock markets as well as in its operations.
Unethical behavior can effect the business in many ways.Following are some of the effects it causes ;
1- Increased risk of doing business.
2- Increased misconduct.
3- Decreased morale of other employees and internal conflict.
4- Increase of employee turnover
5- Decreased productivity.
6- Increased employee fraud
7- Low integrity of business
These effects result in loss of creditors and disbelief of various stockholders. The business operations are disrupted and hence creating a negative business environment.
