Part a: Beta oxidation of oleate generates 5 acetyl coA and each acetyl coA generates 10 ATP molecules net after consumption for self-running of the process. Thus, total ATP generated by beta oxidation of oleate is 10*5 = 50.

Part b: Beta oxidation of linooleate generates net 6 acetyl coA . Thus, total ATP generated by beta oxidation of oleate is 10*6 = 60.
