Being an efficient structural engineer, suggest the most suitable structural system for 65 storey concrete building in the region of Karachi Sea area against the extreme loading (Wind and Earthquake). It is mandatory for the structural engineer to satisfy the client for proposing suitable structural system according to need of the region mentioned above in the third line of this problem. As a structural engineer, you must brief the client about your proposal with solid justification by using your structural engineering knowledge.

The buildings that are very tall would require different type of structural systems so that they can bear the heavy gravitational load that will be acting due to the addition of various floors to it and the lateral force which is being caused by the winds and the earthquakes as well. So being a structural engineer I would mention some structural systems that should be followed here as this is a 65 storey building and would require more technical skills and ther structural systems are being mentioned below.

Braced Frame Structural System : This system is being used in the steel construction and is very efficient for the lateral load acting on the structure and is economic as well. The bracing would help in eliminating the bending of the column which would provide strength to handle the high gravitational load which would be imposed on it.

Framed Tube Structural System : The tube system is introduce to have a development in the bracing system and provide the strength to the exterior of the column so that it can bear heavy load of the upper part of the structure. It usually consists of closely spaced wide exterior columns and these are being connected deep with different beams for providing the lateral strength to the structure as well.

Outrigger-Braced Structural System : These are rigid horizontal structures which are designed in such a way that overturning stiffness and the stress of the building is improved to an extent and it is the most important used structural system in the modern times if very tall buildings are taken to the consideration.
