The mol formula C7H6O and structure for it is Benzaldehyde,

I.R. Spctroscopy provides us a valuable information regarding functional groups of the compound, from the I.R Spectra of the compound there are major peaks at 1700 cm-1, 1600 cm-1, 2800, 2900 cm-1,

3100 cm-1, from which we can conclude that, major peak at 1700cm-1 correspons to aldehyde, generally aldehydea comes at ,1730 cm-1, but why here at 1700 cm-1 , because aldehyde is in conjugation with alkene, and we know that conjugation lowers the frequency of absorption, the another important peak at 1600 cm-1 corresponds to alkene (c=c bond),

2800 cm-1= CH Strech of aldehyde, 3100 cm-1= CH STRETCH OF ALKENE,

Therefore from the given spectra, the given structure is correct .
