1. You identify a new protein called BxX. The primary amino acid sequence looks like a Bcl2 family member. You have an antibody that specifically binds to Bcl2 (anti- apoptosis). You treat your cells with ethanol and after 4h, you lyse (break open) dying cells. You mix the lysate (cellular contents) with the antibody solution and incubate on ice 10m. You then purify the proteins bound to the antibody and find a 1:2 ratio of Bcl2 to BxX. No other proteins are found bound by the antibody. Is BxX pro or anti-aproptic and why?
