There are many classes of enzyme.

International union of biochemistry and molecular science developed a universal criteria for the classification of enzyme.

The name of enzyme is derived from the the state or the reaction it catalyzes aided by suffix -ase.

Hear in the question amylase is the enzyme which converts starch into simpler sugar. It act on the glycosidic bond.

Beta galactosidase is the enzyme which converts beta galactoside into galactose. It is also known as lactase. Deficiency of this enzyme in adults leads to lactose intolerance.
