By the process of exon shuffling and alternate splicing they can produce large no. of proteins from small DNA

Viruses doesn't have their own cellular machinery for the replication of DNA and protein formation. They use host cell machinery and all of the components required to copying itself or reproduction process.

Exon shuffeling: They only have few exons but by changing there order and position they can produce multiple proteins with different sequences.

Alternate splicing: By combinations of introns they can generate large no. of proteins with different sequences from small DNA
