Answer #1

Given, the football team scored 3p points in the first quarter, (5p+2) points in the second quarter, (p-4) points in the third quarter, (m+1) points in the fourth quarter.

Then, the total points scored by the football team during the entire game is = [3p+(5p+2)+(p-4)+(m+1)]

= [(3p+5p+p)+m+(2-4+1)]

= 9p+m-1

Therefore, the football team scored 9p+m-1 points during the entire game.
