Answer #1

A 10.0mL sample of a 10.80M NaCl solution is diluted to a final volume 650.0mL . the molarity of final solution will be 0.166M

Explanation :-

Molar solution means gram molecular weight in 1liter of solution

Here 1 molar NaCl solurion means 58.44 gram NaCl in 1000ml of water.

we have 10 ml of 10.80 M solution

1st we have to calclate how much NaCl is present in 10ml solution

58.44 gram in 1000ml = 1 M

So that 58.44 * 10.80= 631.15 gram in 1000ml = 10.80 M, but we want weight for 10 ml

So that

10*631.15/1000= 6.311 gram in 10 ml = 10.80M soluion

Now we dilute this 10 ml sample to 650 ml i.e. means there is 6.311 gram of NaCl is in 650 ml of water

We know 58.44 in 1liter = 1M that means 650*58.44/1000= 37.98 grams in 650ml = 1M

But we have only 6.311 gram in 650ml

So that final concentration will be

6.311/37.98=0.166M
