Answer #1

your given formula is C2H5NH2 but name is methyl amine both

but actually given formula name is ethyl amine

construct the ICE table

C2H5NH2 (aq) + H2O (l) ----> C2H5NH3+(aq) + OH- (aq)

I 0.6 M 0 0

C -x +x +x

E 0.6-x +x +x

Kb = [OH-] [C2H5NH3+] / [C2H5NH2]

5.6 x 10-4 = [x] [x] / [0.6-x]

x2 + x 5.6 * 10-4 - 3.36 * 10-4 = 0

solve the quadratic equation

x = 0.0181

concentration of OH- = 0.0181 M
