a) The probability that a randomly selected household has one cat is computed here as:

= Number of households with 1 cat / Total number of households

= 33/125

= 0.264

b) The probability that a randomly selected family has more than one cat is computed here as:

= 1 - Probability that the household has 0 or 1 car

= 1 - (74 + 33) / 125

= 1 - (107/125)

= 0.144

Therefore 0.144 is the required probability here.

c) The probability that a randomly selected family has cats is computed here as:
= 1 - Probability that the family dont have a cat

= 1 - (74/125)

= 0.408

Therefore 0.408 is the required probability here.

d) As all the probabilities here are obtained not theoritically but from an experiement, therefore we are computing the probability here using
= Number of succesful outcomes of the event / Total number of outcomes.
