Answer #1

A. By examining we can say that both the processes fit normal distribution with symmetric curves and mean 12.

B. By examining we can say that process B shows higher variation i.e higher standard deviation compared to process A.

C. According to specification quality limits of 12 +- 3, where allowable deviation is -3 to +3 units from mean, process A meet the specification consistently, as it has lower variation, within 3 standard deviation from mean.

D. The quality is loosening, as it allows more deviation from the specification mean standard. According to specification limits, 12+-6, process B meets the specification quality, as it has higher variation.

E. The student's attendance is supposed to follow a normal distribution with mean attendance 20 days and standard deviation 5.5 days. The attendance percentage is supposedly follow the emperical rule.

Describe the standard normal distribution. What are its characteristics? Choose the correct answer below. O A. The standard normal distribution is a normal probability distribution with mean u = 0 and standard deviation o = 1. Similar to any normal probability distribution, it has associated with it a bell-shaped curve, symmetric about a vertical line through u with inflection points at o and -o. The Z-scores theorem, along with a table of areas under this standard normal curve can be...

Recall in our discussion of the normal distribution the research study that examined the blood vitamin D levels of the entire US population of landscape gardeners. The intent of this large-scale and comprehensive study was to characterize fully this population of landscapers as normally distributed with a corresponding population mean and standard deviation, which were determined from the data collection of the entire population. Suppose you are now in a different reality in which this study never took place though...
