In Re structure velence electron are 7.here 8 electron donate by two dppe ligand, two electron by ethene, One electron by chlorine.

Electron counting =7+8+2+1-1positive charge

=17

Oxidation state of metal = +2

one +charge on sphere and +1 charge induce by negative charge chlorine

(2).Velence electron in Au=11

2 electron by two ph as ligand each by one

2 electron by Iodine as ligand each by one.

Total Electron counting=

11+2+2+(1negative charge)=16

Oxidation state of metal =

(x+4)= -1

x= -5

Where X is oxidation state of Au

in above equation +4 was charge created on metal by four negative charged ligand

-1 is charge on sphere.
