(a) 1-Butanol is heated to 140 oC in the presence of sulfuric acid, it will form 1-Butene. The reaction is as follows:

M OH H2SO4 » Он 140 °C but-1-ene butan-1-ol

(d) 2-Pentanol is heated to 180 oC in the presence of sulfuric acid, it will form 2-Pentene. The reaction is as follows:

H2SO4 180 °C pentan-2-ol (E)-pent-2-ene
