Hello, i am sorry to say that as per Chegg guidelines experts can answer only one full question that too first question only. I request you to please post remaining question as separate one since my allotted time could not permit me to answer more than one question also. Thank you in advance for your continued support to us.

I am gonna answer first question numbered 4 now

They mentioned to indicate important characteristics of an acid-base indicator especially strong acid and strong base.

1. For strong acid and strong base complete neutralization the pH always appears at a value 7.00 ( equivalence point), so the indicator should be able to show Sharp colour-change at pH = 7.0

2. It should be non-toxic

3. It should be available at low cost (cheaper price)

4. It should be able to exhibit easily detectable colour change (like RED to Green or blue so on)

5. Best indicator for such cases is phenolphthalein because it is a weak acid and show no color in acidic medium, but shows an intense pink color in alkaline medium.

6. Please have a look at below chemical structures for better understanding how an indicator works.

HO Acid form, colorless Basic form, pink

Hope this helped you!

Thank You So Much!

2 points 9. Using your textbook and class notes as a reference, indicate if cresol red would be a good acid-base indicator for this titration. Justify your answer using your knowledge of titrations curves and indicators. if we use cresol red which has a ph range of 8-10.5 it can good indicator because our titration is Naoh and ASA i.e strong base and weak acid so equivalence point is around ph=9. Cresol red can indicate this equivalence point by changing...
