Methyl mercaptan (CH3SH), the C-H bond is smaller than the S-H bond because carbon has a smaller bonding atomic radius than hydrogen.

The size of carbon is smaller as compared to the size of sulfur. The bonding overlaps of carbon and hydrogen orbitals are stronger as they have smaller bond lengths. Sulfur has a larger size so when it forms a bond by overlapping with hydrogen orbital. The size of the bond length of S-H increases due to its larger size of sulfur.
