Although the citric acid cycle is involved in aerobic respiration, no oxygen is required to power this cycle. Explain the mechanism by which this cycle contributes to aerobic respiration.

Citric acid cycle :-
a series of chemical reactions used by all aerobic organisms to generate energy through the oxidization of acetate derived from carbohydrates, fats, and proteins into carbon dioxide.
In citric acid cycle no oxygen is required , oxygen receives the electron from NADH and FADH2 by H+ ion it is converted into H2O Without oxygen there would be no molecule to catch the electron from NADH and FADH2 .
NADH and FADH2 will not transfer the electron to Oxygen . then accumulation of FADH2 and NADH will lead to stop reaction .
