Answer #1

Adaptive evolution: the process by which the advantageous mutations are propagated through the process of positive selection is known as adaptive evolution.

Natural selection is the method by which beneficial characters ie the heritable traits can be propagated in the population by increasing the frequency of the traits and decreasing the number of negative traits.this is the process of adaptive evolution so that their are only benegicial traits in the population.

Non adaptive evolution: the process by which a population becomes less adaptive to the environment due to the changes in the frequency of the alleles.

Mutatios, genetic drift and gene flow lead to non adaptive evolution as mutayions lead to altrrnation in DNA and increases the frequency of deletrious gene which will bring about the change in overall frquency of the allele.

Genetic drift occurs in the population of finite size where loss of alleles occur due to random processes which again leads to non adaptive evolution.

Gene flow is the transmission of deletrious gene from one population to another thereby increasing the migration load and hence inceasing the chances of non adaptive evolution.

Natural selection In the wild, various sperm and egg cells must navigate a complex environment to complete fertilization. There are mechanisms in place at the molecular level to guard against interspecies fertilization, even between very closely related species. Some of these mechanisms involve lock and key functions of interacting proteins. These molecules most likely regulate which type of reproductive...
