Answer- The northern blot technique is used to detect a sequence of mRNA encoded by a specific gene. cDNA is used in northern bloting.

In microarray technique the intensity of specific sequence of nucleotides is measured. The cDNA is hybridized by using labelled DNA chips.

The northern blot technique is used to detect the sequence where we have the mRNA sequence while the microarray technique is used to detect specific cDNA sequence.
