Answer #1

Matrix Cristae Inner Membrane Outer Membrane LS of Mitochondria

Question 12.

Answer:Cytochromes are proteins which contains Heme(Iron) as a cofactor. It facilitates the movement of electrons in different types of metabolic processes. It contains iron containing porphyrin.

Question 13.

Answer:ATP Synthase forms a complex which helps to synthesize ATP from ADP which uses proton potential gradient from  the electron transport chain.

Question 14.During chemiosmosis, movement of electrons across the semipermeable membrane takes place where hydrogen ions are pumped down and electro chemical gradient is produced, here free energy is released to form ATP.Further the ATP is produced with the help of chemiosmosis which is known as Oxidative phosphorylation,

Question 15:

Answer:Cellular Respiration is an exergonic process, since energy is released in this process. The Delta G would be a  Negative number

Question 16:

Answer:Catabolism is a metabolic process in which large molecules are broke down in to smaller molecules.these smaller molecules are oxidized to release energy or used in further processes.

Question 17:

Answer: Fat is considerted as a more efficient energy source compared to protein because it produce double the times energy compared to protein, excess of carbohydrates, protein is stored as fat in the body which stores energy in reserve.

Question 18:

Answer:Anabolism is a process in which larger molecules are synthesized from smaller units of molecules, here energy is utilized produced from the catabolic process to produce bigger molecules,so it is anEndergonic process.

Question 19:

Answer:Chloroplast and Mitochondria are found in plant cells, bot in animal cell only mitochondria is present. Both produces energy required for the cells to live and function.

  • Both the organelles possesses inner and outer membrane.chloroplast captures light energy in the cell to produce starch in photosynthesis where as mitochondria is called power houses of the cell, breaks molecules, which produce energy required for cellular respiration.

Question 20.

Answer:Sun to plants to produce carbohydrates to mitochondria to produce Energy.
