Answer #1

The correct answer is option (d).

Increasing green house gases such as CO2 and CH4 in the atmosphere leads to warming because GHG have a high albedo and reflect more longwave infrared energy and makes it available to the surface.

Flow Chart of Phenomenon of Grren House Effect :-

  • Solar Radiations from Sun 》 About 1/2 of the radiations are absorbed by Earth's surface 》 Rest are radiated back 》 Radiated back longwave infrared rays are absorbed by GHG 》 GHG re-radiates the absorbed IR in all directions 》 Results in warming of Earth's surface and lower atmosphere.
  • Increase in GHG 》 More trapping of IR 》 Lowers albedo of Earth 》 Warming of Earth's Surface.

GHG are group of gases which includes CO2, CH4, N2O etc. are increasing day by day due to industrialization, pollution and some other reasons.

There is a need of GHG for maintenance of proper temperature of Earth but their increased concentration in atmosphere causes

  1. Melting of iceberg, glaciers etc.
  2. Ozone hole formation.
  3. Increase in lower atmosphere's temperature etc.

So to prevent increasing rate of production of GHG, we should follow some protocols such as

  1. Less use of deodorants.
  2. Time to time use of A.C.
  3. Check the production of gases from industries etc.
