Harvesting is the gathering of ripe crops from the fields .It is an operation of cutting,picking,plucking and digging or a combination of these process for removing crops from underground or above ground or removing the useful part or fruits from plants.

Manual harvesting includes slicing and tearing action .manual harvesting make use of traditional threshing tools, animals for trambling and hand using sharp knives or sickles.Harvesting can be done by 1.manually operated tool 2.animal drawn machine 3.mechanically operated machine. sickle is a simple harvesting tool.It is used for harvesting crops and cutting other vegetations

Threshing is the process of beating paddy leaves inorder to separete seeds or grains.Manual methods are treading by feet,beating stalks against boards.Pedal threshers are also used in manual haresting.the freshly threshed grains must be dried in the sun. Milling is done by hand, hand pounding method is used.Mortar or pestle is used.cleaning and hulling is done by rolling the rice between stones.
