38. Proton concentration will be lower in pH8 than in pH 7

pH 7 will have proton concentration of 1* 10-7 M

PH 8 will have proton concentration of 1*10-8 M

Concentration difference = 1*10-1 M or 0.1 M

39. Changing the pH to 8 results in proton loss means in the primary structure it looses hydrogen ions and than in the secondary tertiary structures protein may be denatured due to hydrogen, ionic bond disruption occurs due to pH change

Protein may not be functional if it loses native structure that holds the active site of the enzyme and if the protons participate in enzyme catalysed reaction due to pH change
