Explanation: The process of cellular respiration can be either aerobic or anaerobic. The number of ATPs produced during anaerobic respiration is about 38 ATP whereas by anaerobic respiration it is only about 2 ATP. Therefore the number of ATP produced in aerobic is higher than anaerobic respiration. The anaerobic respiration does involve the electron transport chain but without using the oxygen as the terminal electron acceptor.
