Answer #1

The measurement of the ligand affinity for a specific receptor is referred to as the Hill coefficient.

It expresses the fraction of the saturated macromolecule in the existence of a specific ligand for showing its role.

The measurement of the hill coefficient is 3 for hemoglobin. It exhibits positive cooperativity.

Even though the four binding regions of the tetrameric hemoglobin is saturated by the oxygen molecule. By the use of Hill equation for a macromolecule, only the ligand molecule percentage is required for its role but not the exact number of ligand molecules.

P+nL PL. - Equation (1) P= Partial pressure of O, For this equation (1) Dissociation constant [P][L] K TPL) = Fraction of en
