Ans_1_The rate at which the glycolytic pathway operated is controlled primarily by allosteric regulation of three enzyme:hexokinase, phosphofructokinase _1 , and pyruvate kinase .

Allosteric effector glucose _6_phosphate inhibits the hexokinase. A high AMP concentration activates pfk_1 and pyruvate kinase .In contrast ,a high ATP concentration inhibits both enzyme.

Finally ,fructose_2,6_bisphosphate stimulates glycolysis by activating phosphofructokinase _1 and fructose _1,6_bisphosphate activates pyruvate kinase
