Answer #1

Ans)

ecology is the study of interactions between organisms and their environment.

In an environment with unlimited resources and no predators a community is likely to grow exponentially.

(in an environment with unlimited resources and no predators the community grows, as there is no mechanism to keep in check the growth of prey population . For eg in a grasslands with only deers and no tigers or carnivores, the deer population will continue growing without limits)

Density dependant limits on growth such as competition put a limit on the carrying capacity.

Organisms from two species may interact within a population and enhance the reproductive success of both individuals this interaction is called mutualism.

(mutualism is a relationship where two organisms depend on each other and benefit from each other example is a fungus and a plant called micorrhizae. The fungus has deep roots hence brings nutrients and water for the plant for photosynthesis, in turn the plant provides food for the fungus. )

Species that increase each others reproductive success may coevolve over many generations.

Herbivory and predation are important ecosystem interactions. The foundation of each ecosystems food web is composed of primary producers.

( the food web contains 4 levels starting with primary producers, secondary consumers, tertiary consumers and apex predators. The primary producers are plants which produce their own food and do not depend on other organisms, and hence forms the largest population in food web and has the highest energy production)

Species diversity, cilmate, and soil composition determine in what major biome and ecosystem is classified.

( biomes are naturally occurring areas or regions with many species of flora and fauna example is a forest)

The size and locations of many biomes are shifting due to human activities such as deforestation and other forms of habitat destruction.

If this helps give it a positive rating. Thank you.
